May to September is the only window — roads from Manali and Srinagar to Leh, and onward to Nubra and Pangong, are open only in summer. June & July are peak; September is quieter with crisper skies. The rest of the year, most of Ladakh is snowbound and inaccessible by road.
By air: direct flights to Leh (Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport) from Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh and a few other cities. By road: the iconic Manali–Leh highway (~2 days, opens June–Oct) or the Srinagar–Leh highway (~2 days, opens May–Oct) — both are bucket-list drives.
Yes — an Inner Line Permit (ILP) is required for Indian nationals to visit Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Turtuk, Hanle and other protected zones. Foreign nationals need a Protected Area Permit (PAP). We arrange all permits as part of your package — no paperwork from you.
Leh sits at 11,500 ft and Pangong/Khardung La cross 14,000–18,000 ft, so mild AMS is common on day one. We schedule a full day of rest in Leh on arrival before driving higher. Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol day one, and carry Diamox if your doctor recommends it. Our drivers are trained to spot symptoms.
Yes — when you have an experienced local driver. Roads through Khardung La, Chang La, Tanglang La and Baralacha La are high-altitude and weather-dependent. Our drivers know the safest routes, current road conditions and BRO checkpoints. We never travel after dark on mountain passes.
Absolutely. Lakeside camps and cottages in Spangmik and Lukung are part of our packages — wake up to the lake changing colours through the day. Tents are insulated and heated, with attached or shared baths depending on the tier.
Layers, always. Daytime can be warm (T-shirt + light jacket) but nights drop below 5°C even in summer. Pack: thermals, a warm fleece, a windproof jacket, gloves, woollen cap, sunglasses (UV is strong at altitude), sunscreen (SPF 50+), lip balm, and sturdy walking shoes.
Flights are not included by default — travel dates and city of origin vary. We are happy to book Delhi–Leh flights on your behalf at actual cost; mention it in the enquiry form. Note: flights to Leh can sell out fast in peak season (June–Aug), so book early.
Yes — every Ladakh package is a starting template. We can add Turtuk, Hanle, Tso Moriri, Kargil, Zanskar, customise stay tiers, swap to deluxe camps at Pangong/Nubra, or build a fully custom Ladakh itinerary based on your interests and timeline.
