Everything you need to know about your pilgrimage journey. We've curated the answers to the most common questions our travellers ask.
Kashmir: March to October — tulips in spring, lush valleys in summer, autumn colours in Pahalgam, and snow from December onwards.
Himachal: March to June for pleasant weather; December to February for snowfall in Shimla, Manali and Kasol.
Ladakh: May to September only — the rest of the year roads to Leh, Nubra and Pangong are closed due to snow.
Yes. An Inner Line Permit (ILP) is required for Indian nationals to visit Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Turtuk and other protected areas. Foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit (PAP). Travel Doodles arranges all permits as part of your Ladakh package — no extra paperwork needed from you.
By default our packages cover stays, sightseeing, private cab transfers and the inclusions listed on each card. Flights and train tickets are not included as travel dates and city of origin vary. We can add them at actual cost if you would like us to book on your behalf — just mention it in the enquiry form.
Yes. Tourism in both Kashmir and Ladakh is fully active and considered safe. All our itineraries follow government advisories and use vetted local drivers, guides and accommodations. We share live updates with you in case of weather alerts or any operational changes.
Leh sits at 11,500 ft and Pangong / Nubra cross 14,000 ft, so mild altitude sickness is common on day one. We schedule a full day of rest in Leh on arrival before driving to higher passes. Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol on the first day, and carry Diamox if your doctor recommends it. Our drivers are trained to spot AMS symptoms.
A Dal Lake houseboat stay typically includes a private wooden room with attached bath, all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) prepared by the houseboat staff, and a complimentary 1-hour Shikara ride around the lake. Our Kashmir Deluxe packages include this as standard.
Absolutely. Every package on this site is a starting template. We can extend nights, swap destinations (e.g. add Sonamarg, Doodhpathri, Spiti or Kasol), upgrade to 4★ or 5★ stays, or build a fully custom multi-state itinerary across Kashmir, Himachal and Ladakh. Just share your preferences in the enquiry form.
Cancellations made 15+ days before travel are eligible for a full refund minus booking charges. 7–14 days before: 50% refund. Less than 7 days: non-refundable. Full details on our Cancellation & Refund Policy page.
Yes — all our packages include private cab transfers for the duration of your trip. Sedan (Dzire / Etios) for up to 4 passengers, Ertiga / Innova for 5–6, and Tempo Traveller for larger groups. Drivers are experienced local operators familiar with mountain routes.
